Logobee

I got stung by a Logo Bee but it’s all better now!

logobee logoI would like to start by saying Logobee’s logo samples are of very high quality — but having said that, in my opinion their claim of a “Money Back Guarantee” and the quality of the logo design work they provided me is poor. I spent $425 and only asked for one revision of one logo and they are now refusing to honour their claimed “Money Back Guarantee.” I have currently escalated my PayPal dispute with them to a claim.

[update]
This post got me a very kind email and a full refund from the owner Pavel Rokhmank the next day by 11:40am. My only disappointment is that I have to waste 1 hour of my time making a claim with PayPal and writing the original blog post and that the manager I dealt with didn’t offer me the full refund instead of $176 of the $425 I had spend. I guess some times you have to work to get your money back.

I laud Mr. Rokhmanko for his quick responces and taking the right action. I would also like to note that I have been told by their staff the the person that did my logo is no longer with the firm.

I have been in the Service industry for over 25 years and I fully realize you can’t make everyone happy. It is refreshing to deal company that is owned by a hands-on progressive owner/manager like Mr. Rokhmanko.

Now instead of telling every one how I was ripped off I will be telling them what a progressive owner Logobee has!

Pavel Rokhmanko’s Email Response:

This is Pavel Rokhmanko the owner of LogoBee.com. I was personally informed on the situation and I would like to take care of the situation personally.

First of all I would like to apologize for not meeting your design needs. It is unfortunate, but in our field of business many things depend on taste and personal preferences. I have reviewed all the process and services provided to you. My findings confirm that you purchased a Golden Package In April 23 2007. Your first 8 initial variations were delivered in April 28. After that we have received 4 requests for changes: May2, May 14, May 15, and May 16.

The necessary changes were made according to your request and updated 4 times. After a more careful examination I noticed that we actually made only 2 changes and the rest was just old files. I’m very sorry to admit that you were treated unfairly. It is not our common practice and I deeply apologize for that.

It is true that our policy waives the refund option after 3 or more changes were done. In your case we did make 4 updates, but you had only 2 actual changes made. Your refund will be processed immediately back to your pay pal account in full.

Here is the information I provide PayPal with.

“This company has refused to provide me with a full refund even though the product have a ‘money back guarantee’ with no clauses except on another page. In my opinion they are also falsing claiming that I requested “3 or more logo design changes” of which I only claimed 1. I believe there “Money Back Guarantee” is false advertizing and they are acting in bad faith by claiming one request for a change is “3 or more logo design changes”.

I request a full refund and that PayPal issue them a warning for acting in back faith and a warning for false advertizing. I have moved on and am currently getting a logo done with http://www.logoholik.com/ of which I can provide proof of purchasing there Corportate ID package for $690. http://www.logoholik.com/packages/corporate_id.html”

Further I provided the following info to PayPal privately.

“On Logobee’s sales page by the product I purchased it says ‘Full Satisfaction’ and ‘Money Back Guarantee’ with no clauses or *’s for notes. I purchased this produce based on this money back guarantee. Here is the sales page I puchased the product off from.
http://www.logobee.com/logo-design-prices/prices.htm

Also in the notes of the paypal transagaion (payment@logobee.com) of Apr. 23, 2007 it states with no clauses ‘money back guarantee’. ‘Golden Package $425 - 8 logo design samples - Unlimited revisions - Stationery design - Full Satisfaction - Money Back Guarantee -Additional specs can be viewed at the following URL.’
http://www.logobee.com/logo-design-prices/prices.htm

They are trying to use the clause on their policy page that that states ‘3) If work was commenced on one of your samples and 3 or more logo design changes were effected at your request.’
http://www.logobee.com/logo-design-order/policy.htm

I didn’t provide them with sample logos that they worked on and there was only 1 logo design change requested by me other then me telling them that the first set didn’t cut it. They starting by giving me a sample of 5 logo’s and I told them I don’t like any of them. They gave me a further same of 5 logo’s and I asked them to make changes to one of those five logo’s. They came back with 6 differnet samples of that one logo. In my opinion this was only one change that I requested.

At that point I realized that the quality was not there and make a decision to move on and find some one else. The logo’s in my opinion were low quality (5 out of 10).

I ask that PayPal award me a full refund on my purchase (they have offered me a $176 refund to take the package done to the Spring Sale package which I turned down).”

[update]

By the way Logobee is now doing Web Design, they have a French version of their site if you don’t believe in English, are currently (June 7 2007) ranking #6 in Google for Logo Design, and have a good list of client testimonies. With an owner like Mr. Rokhmanko running the show I have no problem voting for this company with my links.

Mitchell Cowell

Friday, January 19th, 2007

My disagreement with Mitchell Cowell and his partner Peter Davis has been settled and as of Jan 19th 2007 I received a full refund based on a decision by PayPal that the services I paid for were not provided.

It is not often a Buyer can win a PayPal dispute on a purchase of services as PayPal will accept the Sellers declaration where or not the services were given.

I laud Peter Davis for being ethic and honest in the PayPal dispute resolution process. Honestly hides a multitude of faults.

I took down the original post and have put this one up in its place based on my business ethic of doing to others what I would want them to do to me if I was in their shoes and they were in mine.

I wish both Mitchell Cowell and Peter Davis the best in all their business endeavors.

Matt Wilson

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

A coder named Matt Wilson aka shadda on EFnet with a PayPal account company of Codus Web Design ripped me off for $80 so I though I would post this warning just in case you are considering doing business with him. The PayPal account is using shadda@gmail.com as an email.

Feel free to tell Matt Wilson via email shadda@gmail.com about this post and suggest he contact me and clear this up.

Back in 3-28-2006 I chatted with this coder from the EFnet network on #php. I was very impressed with his coding ability and he give me some free help. He asked me for a loan until money from his next job came and and I sent him $80 via PayPal and we did up a transaction on PayPal for the following.

Colorgraphic Xentera GT 4 Quad PCI Video Card with DVI cables in working condition. Must be shipped with in 2 weeks or payment refunded. Shipping must be with insurance, and tracking.

I never did get the hardware and I let it go past the 45 days so I had no recourse via PayPal. I have had a few lame coders rip me off so I thought I would post pages on them and ranking it #1 for their name. If you want this to come down Matt Wilson just pay me back what you owe me.

Matt Wilson Update

6-14-06: Talked to my PayPal rep today and he told me that “the disputed transaction remains on Matt’s account as unresolved”.
6-12-06: I sent a copy of this page to another coder who is not preforming very well and is way behind on a project that I have spend over $4k on and asked him if he would like a page Matt’s for life ranked #1 for his name. It has an effect.

6-13-06: I hit #31 for the keyword “Matt Wilson” today and #18 for Matt’s handle “shadda”. I will point a link or two every week at it till it hits #1.

Matt Wilson Pay Me Please : )

Matt Wilson I would suggest you take time to pay me and I will take this page down. It’s going to be ranking #1 for your name shortly.

Here is the original transaction that Matt Wilson and I did.

Matt Wilson PayPal Resolution Center

Here is where I sent it to resolution and Matt Wilson didn’t even respond.

As you can see the dispute was closed and there was no refund do to the fact I let it go more than 45 days.

Well thats my story and this page will stay up until Matt Wilson pays. I wish Matt Wilson all the best but I feel like it is best that he be held accountable for ripping me off.
