Well how time zooms on. I have been busy working to get two tools out of beta. I will post on the Indexed Pages tool and the Overture Keyword Ranking tool a bit later. They will also be moved to my Free SEO Tools page soon.
I have decided to use a Java app to do the front end of the Keyword Ranking Monitor Tool (KRMT). I have had a mock up done and it is going to look a lot better then doing it with PHP/GD.
The KRMT was targeted to have been done on Nov. 30th but things are taking longer than I planned. I am moving the beta release up to Jan. 15th and the finished tool to Feb 15th.
The HUGE DEAL on SEO/SEM Services page got very good response, so much I had to shut it down while I get caught up. Becky was taking care of my submissions but she has moved on and I am training up Laura to over see this part of my business. Laura is currently doing reviews on my directory sites so this will be a natural progression for her to move into this. Sorry I am running some what behind on this.
We should start clearly the back log out soon and probably will have the Hug Deal page back up in the first or second week of December. Until then I am placing people that insist on getting in on the Huge Deal on a first-come-first-serve list. I am only going to be selling 50 packages that the $499 price.

I got into SEO while developing a web site for one of my clients Goodwill’s Used Cars back in November 2003. They were buying and I was quoting. It’s kind of funny when I think about it now.
I added a line to the quote called Site Optimize & Submission to Search Engines. The description of that item was “Develop list of keywords with client; optimize title, meta keywords, meta description, & copy for high search engine ranking; submit site to major search engines” and I billed them $250.

That was my first SEO job and it has been all down hill since then and I have never looked back. I didn’t even know anything about SEO at that point. I remember finishing the site and then thinking I better look into this SEO stuff to see what it’s all about. What I discovered to me was unbelievable and I was hooked. Right way I saw this was the way to go and I put my Cardealer Inventory List Web App that I had developed in coldfusion on the back burner.
For me SEO was a natural. I am hard wired to love knowledge, and already had a finely homed trouble shooting skill set from working in the computer industry (Novell, NT Server, etc.) for 15 years.
I spend the first 6 month to a year spaming 18 different SEO forums and learning all I could and then in July of 2004 I decided to put up SEO Company.
SEOCOMANY.CA was registered in July 13 2004. The WayBack Machine first shows my 4 page site on July 25, 2004 less than 2 weeks later. The site started up with a main page , a page on SEO Techniques, and two pages on SEO tools. One targeting SEO Tools and the other targeting SEO Tool.
I selected that the domain SEOCOMPANY.CA based on my feeling that getting fist place for the key phrase seo company was doable. Today my site came up first place on Google for that phrase.
SEO has been very good to me and if you are willing to work hard things can come together quickly. I thought that grossing $85k a year doing tech work was good until I got into SEO. I want to thank all the people that helped me get started and most of all I want to thank all my past and current customers that have entrusted me with optimizing their websites.
I am looking to pick up a few extra clients so I coupled a super duper deal of $884 worth of permanent one-way relevant links for $499 with four different consulting packages. I am only going to put leave this special price up for the first 50 deals and then either the number of links will be redacted or the price will go up.
The products I am offering in this limited Huge Deal answer the following 5 questions.
Am I doing anything wrong on my site?
What is the best way to get my site new links?
Why are other sites ranking higher than mine?
Am I targeting the right keywords?
Where do I find a link package for more traffic?
You will find the color code solutions on the Huge Deal page.

I just got an email from a prospect client in which he asked me an very important question. One all people looking for SEO/SEM work should be asking.
…Is there any risk at all to my site if I choose to use your Super Links Package. For the reasons above, I do not want to engage in any activity that could cause damage to my site’s rankings and PR.
I am looking to take a conservative approach to my SEO efforts.
I wrote him back and let him know that I was a Strict While Hat Conservative. I have no clients with DP Co-op or Link Vault links, and I stopped offering my reciprocal links package about a year ago. Now don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that I think DP Co-op or Link Vault are “link schemes”. I am just saying that I have a lot invested in my SEO Company site and I can’t afford to do anything stupid that could be seen as spammy that just might cause me to pick up a penalty or worse yet the dreaded ban.
The principles I follow for my own site I do the same for my clients sites. I wouldn’t risk my site and I won’t risk your site. I endeaver to operate on the principle of doing to others what I would want them to do to me if they were in my shoes and I was in theirs.
SEO Company came out with a RSS feed for the SEO Tools Directory about a month ago. I spend the last few weeks testing it it on 3 different site and fine tuning the code.
Of course the db to xml RSS feed was simple. It was the XML to XHTML that the time had to be spend on. The presentation for the SEO Tools has been put in CSS so all the editing is done there. The XML to XHTML file xml2xhtml.php is encrypted.
There SEO Tools Directory has 125 tools in 23 categories. SEO Company is offering a feed of these tools where site can place them on your site for added value to your visitors. The XML to XHTML file is set up so that you can show all categories or just one specify category.
The full feed is add to your site page with a simple PHP include.
< ?include ’seo-tools-xml2xhtml.php?’;?>
If you want to remove the New SEO Tools category and just show one category you add the following code to your new file.
<?php
$_GET[”cat”]=2;
$_GET[”hidenew”]=1;
include ’seo-tools-xml2xhtml.php’;
?>
The following are the current SEO Tool categories.
Michael Hargove of Web Submission Services Inc. jumped at the chance to add the SEO Tool directory to his site. He placed them all on his SEO Tools Set page and created another 22 pages and placed one category of the tools on each page.
Here is a sample page on the Web Submission Services site for the Alexa Ranking tools.
You can download the Tools-RSS-HowTo.txt, test-file.php, test-file2.php, seo-tools.css, and seo-tools-xml2xhtml.php here seo-tools.zip. The seo-tools-xml2xhtml.php is encrypted and copywrited by Solutions with Service the owner of the SEO Company Website and content.
I have been looking at 3 column all in CSS templates as I am doing a long overdue redesign of this Website. I am going to be using a 3 column all in CSS fixed width center column that is center column first sourced.
I am throwing out the suckfish menu and going with a menu in the first column. I decided that running your menu down a column allows you to expose more of the page titles to your users than running a horizontal menu across the top of your content. The horizontal menu hides your page titles which is not a good thing.
The other point is that if you run your menu across the top the spider is going to end up reading your menu items first. If you use a two or three column template and you first source your second or center column the spiders will read your content before your menu.
The Skidoo Too by Ruthsarian has a center column that is first sourced and I have been eyeing this template over of the last six month.
postioniseverything.com also has a template that has the center column first sourced. Check out the source on both of these and you will see the second column is first sourced.
Here are a few more quality 3 column layouts.
Here is my 3 Column Template and my 2 Column Template. I am still working on getting the fixed width working on the 3 column template on IE.
Well I spend a couple of hours looking at all the different server packages and settled with a server from Managed.com. I ended up with a 2.8Ghz P4, 1GB DDRAM, 120GB IDE, 1TB brandwidth, Redhat Fedora, and Cpanel.
I am releasing my first two free SEO tools next week. Tool #1 will spider you whole site and then check Google, Yahoo, and MSN to see which URL’s are in the index and show you ther percents and let you list the URL’s are are or arn’t for each search engine. Tool #2 will search the Overture PPC database for a keyword and then check to see how your Website ranking on Google, Yahoo and MSN for those keywords. I will be releasing between 20 and 40 quality tools in the next 3 to 6 months.
The XML Sitemap Generator tool picked up the Best September Tool award. That gets them 22 links from the SEO tools pages on this site and links from all the other sites that displaying the RSS feed of the SEO Tools directory pages.
Work as not started on the Keyword Ranking Monitor Tool but things are getting close. I set move time in discuss with the programmer that will be doing the tool for me.
