CSS is a style language and the letters stand for cascading style sheets. Style sheets define how HTML documents will be displayed and allow numerous styles to be defined.

Why Use CSS?

CSS was a breakthrough in web design. It allowed for web designers to control the style and layout of many web pages at the same time by editing the CSS file. This saves time and energy as opposed to manually editing each page of a site. In addition, by having a CSS file that holds all of the style code a site can be made more search engine friendly. The search engines will get to see the on page content without having to sift through all of the design elements on each page.

How To Learn CSS

There are numerous CSS tutorials and books that are available at no cost. However, before learning CSS it is important the individual as a complete understanding of HTML. If questions arise it may be useful to post them in web development related forums in ordered to gain explanations.
