Keyword Mining
Keyword Mining
Keyword mining is the process of creating a list of keywords or keyword phrases that are relevant and popular for a particular site. The more targeted and effective the mined keywords are the more successful the site will be. Mining keywords and optimizing a site for these keywords will increase the traffic generated from search engines.
How To Mine Keywords
PPC research tools can be useful in mining keywords even if the mining is going to be for organic rankings. PPC tools may show the number of times a keyword is searched per month and also show the cost per click for each keyword. These tools also may suggest words that are similar to the main word that was search. If you can get a relevant similar word out of the tool you have mined a keyword. Search engines can also be useful in mining keywords. For example, when a search term is entered, a search engine will often give suggestions of other similar keywords.
Choosing Keywords
Mining will generally result in an enormous list of keywords. It is important that the most ideal keywords for a particular site are taken from this list to use. What words are ideal depends on the several factors including the competition for a particular keyword, the site's budget and how targeted the keyword would be for a site. If the content on a site specifically matches a keyword it will be more valuable.
