Link Baiting
Link Baiting
Link baiting is the process of luring sites to link to a particular site. Webmasters offer link bait in order to raise their own link popularity. Link baiting takes proper skill in order to be successful and not be seen as SPAM.
Why Link Bait?
By offering link bait a site may gain one way links which are thought to be more valuable than links gained by a 2 way link exchange. If a site is offering something unique and interesting it is more likely to be successful in gaining links.
How To Link Bait
One way of link baiting is to create useful tools that other relevant sites will naturally want to link to. If these tools are useful they will likely cause other webmasters to voluntary link to the site that that has created the tools. Another useful link baiting technique is to create a quality blog. If the blog has unique content then other webmasters with sites within that niche will want to stay informed by reading the blog. They may also want to link to the site the blog is on. This is one of the most useful and affordable link baiting techniques.
